Original was a Mixed Media on Wood - created in our Warriors heART facility!

From the Artist:

"I had a nightmare the night before I flew out to Warrior's Heart. This is a depiction of that nightmare that I started sketching on a napkin in flight. The gentleman in the bed represents me / all PTSD sufferers.  The shadows are “the evil” in the world coming to claim me / us. The 76 hash marks on the wall represent the 76  improvised explosive devices I disarmed (by hand... hence the bloody fingers) on my last Afghanistan deployment as an Explosive Ordinance Disposal Team Leader (Bomb Squad.) The last hash mark ends at the rat’s hole, with the rat blown up, in front of a crater, representing my luck running out.  

It's my hope that those suffering with PTSD see my painting are able to relate, and seek help."
